Chi l'ha vista ha fatto sentire la sua voce con forza descrivendolo come uno dei posti piu' suggestivi che esistano. Dovevamo per forza andare a verificare! 14 a 1 per il si su While Stocks Lasts e 9 a 7 su questo blog, piu' Silvia che citava il mio "quando in ballo si balla" hanno fatto il resto. Partenza Sabato: Brisbane-Alice Springs, per tornare Martedi' : Uluru-Sydney(?!? Si lo so.. )-Brisbane. Tre ore e mezzo di volo fino ad Alice, come andare dalla Sardegna a Edimburgo, per visistare la roccia piu' famosa del mondo, girarci intorno e salirci sopra. Costo... meglio lasciar perdere, la cifra e' in dollari australiani, non voglio neanche pensare a quanto si traduca in soldi veri. Potevamo ripartire senza vedere Ayers Rock?? Who were we kidding...

Hooray ! Your way of describing the trip - travelling three hours to see a rock, reminds me a story an aussie told me in Florence many years ago.
After a drunken night out in Rome (where one of his travelling partners, discovering turkish toilets for the first time in his life, cried out 'someone's nicked the dunny!') he woke up remembering that he had to get to Florence at all costs to see David - not really knowing what David was. So to Florence he travelled.
His reaction upon finally seeing Michelangelo's masterpiece:
'David's just a bloody rock !'.
